The History of Horror

Here is one of the most recognized clips from the 1930's great 'Frankenstein'. During this era Hollywood made new films from old ideas. Frankenstein is in fact also a great in the form of Great British classic literature.

Here is a trailer of a film from the 70's 'The Omen'. This particular era of cinema saw films based on the unearthing concept that children were bad for their family. The horror of the war during this era made these films seem more realistic at the time; therefore more horrific also.

Shown here is the trailer to the 2007 horror film 'Captivity'. This film was seen as going 'too far' after all throughout the 21st century horror film producers have been trying to outdo each other in relation to gore. Captivity was criticized immensely and it has been said that these type of films will soon be no longer available legally.
